How to Import a vehicle into Great Britain' PI5.

Buying an Import car is exactly the same as buying a new car from your local main dealer, other than it comes from a dealer in Continental Europe.

The car will be exactly the same specification with the same warranties and entitlements (some vehicles come with 2 years warranty as opposed to 3 years in the UK, in these cases an extension of the warranty can be purchased).

New car's are purchased from Continental Dealers because they are cheaper.

AutoZone has a network of 100's of different suppliers located throughout Europe.

Question. How do I protect myself against currency movements?

Answer. This order is based on foreign currency, the rate quoted is 1.59 Euro's to the £. Click here to view today's current rate Money Converter. Foreign exchange is a constant variable and as small movements can affect the end purchase price of your new vehicle we suggest you either purchase the currency now or arrange for a Forward Exchange Contract. In AutoZone’s opinion purchasing the currency now and holding it in your own account is the safest and most cost effective option that is if you have all the funds now.

To purchase the currency now simply open a new current account in the currency required and purchases the currency. A Forward Exchange contract simply guarantees the exchange rate for the time your new car is ready in a few months. Your bank should be able to offer you a foreign currency account as well as a Forward Exchange Contract.

You can purchase foreign currency from your local bank, building society or companies such as Money Corp Ltd.

You can view live currency rates from our web site at http://www.autozone4cars.com/az/converter.htm
